Let's Active
Album Review
At the height of new wave-y synth pop, Let's Active managed to provide a breath of fresh air with its bright and bubbly sound. The guitar-based southern power pop band managed to capture new wave's quirkier elements with simplicity and classic pop craft. Afoot, essentially the demo that got them signed to IRS, does an excellent job of capturing the band's early period, when they were a tight trio centered around Mitch Easter's songwriting talents and production prowess. Their ability to pull off pop songs with economy and precision is especially evident on "Every Word Means No", an absolutely classic pop song by anyone's standards. ~ Chris Woodstra, All Music Guide
