After a surprising round of second-rate B-sides for Revelations' two singles -- after a few dozen fantastic ones from the previous singles -- Gene rebounds with the three beguiling wonders that back the sole single of "Is It OverNULL" (and it's good to see them dispense with that rip-off two-part crapola). It might be a good idea to place more of these light lullabies on their actual LPs; "Supermarket Bombscare" (a real gem), the gentle, opulent instrumental "Little Diamond," and Motownish "Who Said This Was the End" all better three-quarters of what was chosen for Libertine. ~ Jack Rabid, The Big Takeover, All Music Guide
